Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Reseller Magic collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, web application, browser extension, and related services, collectively called the “Service.”

1. Information we handle

Account information. We handle information you provide when creating or using your account, including your email address, name if provided, account preferences, and credit balance.

Authentication information. When you register or sign in, your email address and password are transmitted to our authentication service. Our web app and the browser extension store an authentication token and account information locally to maintain your session. Neither stores your password.

Valuation information. We handle the liquidation listing URLs you submit, related listing and product information, valuation results, and the assumptions and preferences used to prepare your analysis.

Market location. We use your selected city or market location to tailor valuations and shipping estimates. The extension does not request GPS access or continuously track your physical location.

Support information. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your request and use it to respond.

2. How the browser extension works

The extension operates on the supported liquidation marketplace domains for which you grant it access.

When you are signed in and open an individual lot listing on one of those domains, the extension reads the current page URL and sends it to the Reseller Magic API to check whether a valuation already exists. This automatic check occurs before you click “Valuate This Lot.” The extension does not perform this check on other pages, such as homepage, search, category, or account pages.

When you request a new valuation, the extension sends the page URL to our service. Our backend retrieves and analyzes relevant listing information, and the extension displays the resulting valuation and progress updates.

The extension does not read your browser’s general history database or collect browsing activity from unrelated websites. It does not collect payment details or payment history, read personal messages, or record general keystroke, mouse, or scrolling activity.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and maintain your account and authenticate access.
• Prepare, retrieve, and display liquidation valuations.
• Tailor analysis to your selected market and assumptions.
• Display account credits and recent valuations.
• Remember your preferences and reuse valuations we have already prepared.
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
• Respond to support requests and communicate service-related information.

We limit information obtained through the extension to what is necessary for its disclosed purpose and related operation.

4. Local storage

Our website and app use browser local storage to keep you signed in.

The extension uses browser local storage for authentication tokens, account information, web app settings, and panel position and minimized-state preferences. It does not store valuation results in browser storage.

Logging out removes the extension’s stored authentication information. It does not delete your server-side account or the valuation information already stored by our service.

5. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information with service providers only as necessary to operate and support the Service. These include providers of hosting, data storage, error monitoring, email delivery, and payment processing where applicable. If a provider processes information for valuation or AI analysis, that processing is also covered here.

The extension itself does not access your payment details or payment history.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to address fraud, abuse, or security threats.

6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Reseller Magic’s use of information obtained through its browser extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

We use this information only to provide or improve the extension’s disclosed purpose and permitted related operations. We do not use or transfer it for personalized advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness assessments, or lending decisions.

Human access to extension user data is restricted to circumstances permitted by that policy, such as your explicit consent to access specific information for support, necessary security investigations, legal obligations, or aggregated and anonymized information used for internal operations.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account and service information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it, except where retention is required by law.

You may request account deletion by contacting us. Clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension does not delete information already stored by our service.

8. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted transmission to our hosted service. No transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices

You can update available account information and preferences through Settings, log out, or disable or uninstall the extension.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact us at the address below. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the date above and communicate material changes through the Service. Where required, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent before introducing new data practices.
